Here, in the second grade, we have been talking about the human body, specifically our organs, also known as "guts" by the kids, and their functions. We began working on some human body posters and they are already very creative!
Today, the students learned about the 3 types of rocks (igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary) and were able to observe and draw at least one of each. Additionally, the students experienced an exothermic reaction (calcium chloride + water), similar to how geodes are formed.
Today, the students observed the reaction between milk and soap by using their "scientist eyes" and watched the food coloring move around in a pleasing pattern.
